AMD or age-related mascular degeneration is particular among middle aged people building up waistline. Accumulation of fat causing abdominal obesity or a condition called potbelly is identified as a major risk factor which may lead to vision loss as per research. Researchers at University of Melbourne monitored changes in waistlines of more than 21000 men and women of middle age and found that chances to go blind are more prevalent in pot bellied men than women. Condition causes damage to retina leading to loss of vision. Findings of the study have been published in American Journal of epidemiology.
