What is the optimum level of salt intake? Common salt known by chemcial name sodium chloride has been described as the enemy number one, in hyper tension cases and doctors have been advising against salt intake. But a recent study reveals that low intake may lead to high cholesterol level and endanger life. A study by Dr. Niels A Graudal from Copenhagen University has published an article in American Journal of Hypertension mentioning that low intake of sodium is not a positive signal to people especially white people on whom trial was taken. So a debate is going on among scientists in favor and against salt consumption and the patients are on a dilemma, which advise they should follow.
