Why Do We Need Vitamin D?

It is already known to all that Vitamins are vital for our existence.  Of which, Vitamin D assumes more importance since it is required to keep up our immune system.  The reason why we are pestered with frequent minor ailments like cold, fever etc. can be due to its deficiency.  Of late, Dutch researchers have come with their findings that Vitamin D supplements are required for pregnant mothers to protect their new borne from  respiratory diseases like Pneumonia and other lower airways inflammations caused by viruses.

Vitamin D is most crucial to maintain our immune system, development of bone,  proper brain function etc. and lack of it may lead to many complications in later part of our life too. The sources of it is mainly through exposure to sunlight.  So the most important and vital element required is freely available in nature.  Get it to lead a healthy life.
